Jesus’ oils

AS CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS…

let us keep in mind the gifts of essential oils!!!

The story goes that the wise men gave the baby Jesus gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.

Now Frankincense and Myrrh are wonderful essential oils!

Frankincense was especially prized as a premier defense against all types of infections and diseases. But it was fairly expensive, so it was primarily used by wealthier folks.

It is interesting to speculate that the gift of gold may have also been a third essential oil known as BALSAM FIR!

Some years ago, ONLY 3 oils were found in King Tut’s tomb – frankincense, myrrh and balsam. These 3 were considered to be “KINGLY OILS.”

There are Hebrew scholars who discovered that Balsam Fir oil was also known as “liquid gold” because it was valued so highly.

So we see that the wise men who gave gifts of oils to baby Jesus were not only giving great gifts of healing…

but they were also acknowledging to the world that the baby in the manger was A KING (!) with gifts of ‘kingly’ oils. :)

I wish all my blog readers and visitors a very merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year.
