menopause or perimenopause

Posted on: May 5, 2012

Here’s a few interesting YOUNG LIVING product recommendations by Dr. Carolyn DeMarco regarding menopause and perimenopause.

(Note: The following statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.)

For everyone in menopause or perimenopause, I would use at least natural progesterone [Progessence]. In terms of the pregnenolone creams [Prenolone], I would use the cream every day as opposed to the natural progesterone [Progessence], which is used cyclically.

When a person is menstruating, I only use it for two weeks, days 12-25. When a person is not menstruating and has reached menopause, natural progesterone cream [Progessence] should be applied at night from day 1 through day 25 of the cycle. From the 1st to the 25th of the month, I have them apply the natural progesterone. On the last 5 days of the month, they don’t use it. And perhaps they can also get off the pregnenolone [Prenolone] for those days, but I’m not as strict with the pregnenolone because it has a different function; it’s higher up on the cycle.

Basically you can go off both hormones for the last 5 days of the cycle. Otherwise, the natural progesterone receptors become overstimulated. Dr. Lee and all the other natural physicians that I’m aware of try to use the hormones in a cyclical fashion to mimic the natural situation.”
