my new dawn

the sea dragon

Posted on: September 28, 2013

when deeper places

are carved within

there lies new worlds

to enter in

for so i found the

other day

tossing round the

tidal waves

bruised and battered

to the soul

a force below

sent forth his call

and so surrendered

i sank beneath

the churning foam

in blind belief

through rushing currents

and past the light

into the dark

from out of sight

and there upon

the sandy floor

i found myself

inside my core

wherein a cave

of massive size

upon my life

i did surmise

and through the

gloom

a pair of eyes

the light of which

now drew me near

and lo a dragon

became clear

this mighty beast

had sent for me

to stay and rest

and simply be

and in that time

i came to learn

of things forgotten

but now

return

Wonderful! Thank you. The layers of symbology around the dragon /snake make this very rich. One can meditate on this poem for a while.

thanks so much, rita, for your time and heartfelt comment
